For those more comfortable with the keyboard, and for faster operation, PicSwitcher offers numerous keyboard shortcuts to its major features. Some of these are fixed and cannot be changed, others can be customized to your liking.
These shortcuts cannot be changed:
Control + C | Copy the current image (or selected portion thereof) to the system clipboard |
Control + V | Paste the image from the system clipboard into PicSwitcher. |
Control + A | Select all available images |
Control + N | Deselect all available images |
Control + I | Invert the current selection (select deselected images, deselect selected images) |
Control + | Zoom Out |
Control + | Zoom In |
Control + Tab | Cycle between tab pages |
In addition to these shortcuts, you will find that many buttons and other controls in PicSwitcher have characters underlined on them. Holding Alternate and pressing the underlined character will activate that particular control.
Any of the function keys on the keyboard (F1 through F12), along with the Shift and Control key modifiers, can be customized with whatever functionality you desire. Click on the "Options" button on the "Image Conversion" tab page, and click "Keyboard Shortcuts" to begin customizing. This will bring up the following window:
The left half of the window shows your current keyboard customizations. Clicking on any entry in this list will allow it to be customized.
The right half of the window allows you to select the action to be performed when the selected key is pressed. If you select the "Go to Folder" option you will also need to specify the folder to select.
Once all customizations have been completed, click the "OK" button to save them.
