FileBack PC Upgrade Options

Software Edition Upgrade

If you originally ordered one edition of FileBack PC and wish to upgrade to another edition, the upgrade is the difference in price plus a $5.00 processing fee.  (Edition upgrades are only available within the same major version number, i.e. from one version 3 edition to another, or from one version 4 edition to another.)

To process an edition upgrade:

1. Locate your original order information.  You will need the transaction ID and email address used with the original order.
2. Fill out our online upgrade form as if you are purchasing the Network edition or Enterprise edition of the software.
3. In the "Prior Transaction ID" field enter your original transaction ID.  (Where do I find it?)
4. In the "Prior Email Address" field enter the email address associated with the original transaction.
5. Submit your order.

The order total listed on the web page may not be correct.  If we are unable to match your e-mail address and/or transaction ID, you are attempting to upgrade more licenses for the software than you have previously purchased, or your prior transaction has already been upgraded you will be charged full price.

License Count Upgrade

If you need to increase the number of PCs on which you are licensed to run FileBack PC, you very well may qualify for a discount.  The license upgrade fee is calculated as follows:

1. The number of orders placed for the same edition (Standalone, Network, Enterprise) in the last 365 days using the same e-mail address is counted.
2. Calculate the price of that number of licenses.
3. Calculate the price of the qualifying licenses, plus the number of licenses to be added.
4. Subtract the value calculated in step 3 from the value calculated in step 4.
5. If it has been more than 30 days since the last order, add a $5 processing fee.

What this effectively means is that if you order a 5-user license, and three weeks later decide to add an additional 5 users, the total amount spent from both orders will be the same as if the ten-user license was purchased initially.  If more than 30 days have passed, there is an additional fee.

The order total listed on the web page will not be correct.  It will be re-calculated by MOS using the method listed above, and adding a $5 processing fee.  If we are unable to match your e-mail address or if you are attempting to upgrade more licenses for  the software than you have purchased you will be charged full price for the new licenses of the software.

Version Upgrade

It is the policy of Maximum Output Software to make all versions of its products available for free upgrade within the same major version number.   For example, anyone purchasing a license for version 3.1 of FileBack PC is eligible for a free upgrade to version 3.2.  Normally the same registration codes may be used, but in certain cases a new registration code may need to be issued, and will be done so free of charge.

If you wish to upgrade within the same major version number, just download and install the newer version on top of your current version. Your registration code and configuration will automatically be imported into the newer version.
